Monthly Fresh Produce Giveaway
Our largest food giveaway project. We work along with the community food bank of NJ to give away on average of 6,000 pounds of fresh produce monthly. This feeds on average 180 - 200 families with healthy nutritious produce. We are working with the food bank to start adding cooking classes.
ZAKAT
Local zakat is extremely important, we are required to take care of our community prior to taking care of those overseas. The cases that we get are hard to hear about. Sisters & brothers facing food insecurity or eviction or medical expenses that they can not cover.
BBNJ has a local Zakat committee that has 0 overhead. 100% of all donated funds goes to people in need
PANTRY
Our main pantry is located at the BBNJ headquarters in Union City. We work with the Food Bank of NJ to provide low cost produce to the local area. The pantry is open once a week, it provides food senior citizens monthly and any walk-in client.
Ramadan Projects
TOY DRIVE
Our beloved toy drive, an annual project during the month of Ramadan. Every year low income kids get toys from our amazon wish list. All our toys are wrapped with love by our volunteers. Every year we do this project, by the grace of God, we achieve our goals. Our largest distribution being over 450 toys.
RAMADAN MEALS
At BBNJ we provide iftar meals to inmate at a county level. Our meals started with feeding 300 meals per day but now (2023) has grown to 1300 meals per day.
HYGIENE AND WINTER KITS
We offer the homeless community with hygiene kits and seasonal winter gear to help deal with the changes in season.
